First introduced in the 1960s, the Shelby 427 Cobra soon took over the sports car market consumers were drawn to the classic design and high power of the automobile. Targeted to sports and racing enthusiasts, the specifications of the classic Shelby 427 Cobra were deemed unsuitable for endurance racing. Generally delivering horsepower between 400 and 500, this powerhouse was then adjusted and went on to become a radical machine on the road.

In 1967, the Shelby 427 Cobra became the fastest produced vehicle to date, despite limited number of products reaching the showrooms.
